The Hawaii Psychoanalytic Society was founded in 2019 by Luke Hadge, Ph.D. HPS is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization serving the people of Hawaii and beyond. HPS is affiliated with the Hawaii Psychoanalytic Study Group, also founded by Dr. Hadge, of the American Psychoanalytic Association, and is funded by a generous grant from the American Psychoanalytic Foundation.

HPS is the only psychoanalytic organization recognized by the state of Hawaii and we welcome psychoanalysts, psychologists, psychiatrists, other mental health professionals, scholars, scientists, artists, and educators from other disciplines who share an interest in and a curiosity about the psychoanalytic understanding of the human mind and its applications to society and humanity.

Luke Hadge, Ph.D., founder and president of HPS, is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst licensed to practice in the states of Hawaii and New York. He is the only formally trained and practicing psychoanalyst in Hawaii who is an active member of the American Psychoanalytic Association, the nation's oldest and most prestigious membership organization of psychoanalysts around the country. He practices psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, as well as teaches and supervises, in the downtown area of Honolulu. In addition to being a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association, he also a member of the American Psychological Association and Columbia University's Association for Psychoanalytic Medicine. He is the author of Psychoanalytic Stories, available from IPBooks.net and Amazon.
